We have the power... well, almost

Since I said some words of disappointment to my builder last week, I didn't expect much would happen on site. After all no approval have been given by council. We requested start dates, and a tentative completion date. But after a week and a half, still no dates. Several people who are looking over the build have been away, and I expect the delays to get worse. There has been repeated correspondence about agreeing to plans and selections, but the builder can't get the details right. I don't blame them since it has been several months from the time we had the selection meetings. We keep a good record of all our dealings. Probably better than them. Lots of request for changes and clarification on this and that. It doesn't happen fast, it seems to take days to get an answer or response back. But things seem to be looking better. We have a temporary power pole. I'm sure they are going to need this to have power tools working when construction happens. Next is to have water connected, since they've been using the neighbours taps to wash down.

Dude... where’s my house

So for the last two weeks, my demolition guy has been promising me that they will get around to demolishing the house. After repeated emails the last one said they will be onsite this Wednesday. So for the last week I’ve been driving around to the house before work and after work just for that slim chance they have come. So today I drove there after work. I couldn’t get there this morning because I had a course to go to. So not expecting much, I usually grab a glimpse of the roof of the house as I drive around the corner of the street. But today was a bit different, I took a peek upon approach, but I couldn’t see it, I wasn’t sure if I missed it, but as I drove up to the street, to my surprise there was an excavator on the property and no sign of the house at all. All I could see was the remnants the concrete foundation and the drive way.

More plants/trees and pavers

Over the weekend we saw humid weather on Friday afternoon and Saturday. The rain was holding off, even though it was forecast for both Friday and Saturday, it would have been good because the plants were becoming droopy. I had to duck off to Bunnings to buy a hose to water the plants. Then the much needed heavy rain on came on Sunday. Which affected the landscaping work on Monday. The landscaper installed pavers, finished the gravel path, planted a few trees, and prepared the ground for turf that is due to arrive tomorrow. 4 Days Paint to front of wall Stair/handrail polish final coats?? Landscaping done

Today the ground was wet, but the landscapers got the job done before lunch time. I also noticed the house had a big tidy up and looks nice and shiny. The countdown is on, and the handover inspection has been booked. 3 Days Paint to front of wall Stair/handrail polish final coats??
