Fully fenced and surveyed... again

The last few days have been fencing, and it's been taking longer than I expected. I thought it was just a nail guns paradise. Fencing took almost a week, and a few days of that, were without any crew. Then by the end of the week, the surveyors had been back to mark out where the house outline would lie, so that excavation for the foundation, piers and plumbing can begin.

Backfilled and cleaned

So the walls have been back filled and temporary fences taken down for the boundary fences to go up. They surprised me by using good clean fill. I'll have to monitor the amount of subsidence after the backfill starts to compress, which has haapened at my previous residence. Admittedly, this was never done properly with proper drainage or fill. The fencing is partially done. We will now approach the neighbours to see if they are willing to contribute part payment of the fence.

We have walls

It's been a busy week or so. Construction has been battling bad weather and rock. Rock has been hampering excavation because the heavy machinery needs to break it all up. I have been told by the builder it's the worse type of rock they've seen. That sounds reassuring. Maybe they are trying to justify the delays. Well, after several day on site, and several of nothing happening, the wall is almost complete. All the extra excavation has caused a big mound to pile on the block. Who knows what will happening with this. I assume it will be backfilled, but how much of it.

It's been awhile

Since my last post, this is where we're at. No start date. The block has been levelled and ready for a wall to be installed.
