Wall blocks arrived

Besser blocks for the front wall arrive today, I'm expecting this to go up very fast

More shots of grouted area

More photos or grouted area

Filling Footings, and downstairs tiles grouted

Today they poured the footings ready for the block work to begin. Lower level floor got grouted.

Digging footings

It seems the wall has started to be excavated. The familiar feel of digging the footings is starting to make its way around again, I feel it wasn't so long ago that the foundation was going down.

More materials arrive

It appears the front wall/fence is going to be worked on. This will improve the look on the house once it's completed. Another photo of the tiled laundry area.

Lower floor done

It appears the tiler is making slow progress. The main downstairs flow area is tiled. Yet to be grouted

Tiling again

It seems the large open area downstairs has been finished. He continues to lay down the hall, and a bit to go in the laundry. Some bedding sand arrived, this is for the shower and wet areas upstairs so the fall in the floors can drain properly. There's still grouting to do, but I'm guessing he will do this last, and in one go all around the house. There's still upstairs to do. Maybe I'll spread out the blog updates (like the painting stage), so it looks like there's been more done over time, rather then the frequent regular blogs

Tiling continues

This tiling will take some time, me thinks. So far he has only started on the lower level, making his way inside the laundry, and down the hall, he has yet to start on any bathrooms, not to mention the walls in the bathroom which have floor to ceiling tiling. These rectified tiles do take a lot longer. And.... the outdoor kitchen bench has been fitted, which has come a lot earlier than I expected.

Tiler started

After having a discussion with the builder in regards to an update, he told us that tiling wouldn't start for a few weeks, since he's been booked out and ours would be the next job. He said we'd be expecting him to start in a few week. Today I swung by the house, and it seems he has made a start. This builder always seems to surprise me. The verandah has been sealed, which is good, we've been receiving a bit of rain of late, and I've been able to get some shots of the sinks, basins and bathroom vanities.
